The Wheeler Building is located at 450 St. Louis Street in the heart of Mobile’s downtown area. It was originally constructed in 1927 by Wheeler Motor Company for use as a Chevrolet Dealership, back when St. Louis Street was known as Automobile Row. Over the years, the building has been home to a number of businesses, including the Mobile Press Register, McKesson Robbins, US Army Corp of Engineers, and Safe Archives and Safe Shredding.

In 2019 Ward Properties, Inc. completed a multimillion-dollar renovation where it was converted from an antiquated warehouse space into 37 modern 1-and-2 bedroom apartments, office space and an award winning brewery named Braided River Brewing.
