Ward Properties, Inc. began in 1928 as the Besdsole Investment Company, Inc. Bedsole Investment was purchased in 1989 and rebranded into Ward Properties, Inc by T. Bestor Ward, III. In this time, Ward Properties has managed and developed over 200,000 sq ft of industrial space, multiple O’Reilly’s Auto Parts locations, multiple Dollar Tree locations, Wheeler Lofts in downtown Mobile, Spring Run Neighborhood in Fairhope, and many other retail, industrial, commercial and residential spaces. In 2020, T. Bestor Ward, IV joined the company, and we look forward to the continuation and growth of Ward Properties, Inc.

Bestor is also President of Uriah Land Company, LLC and serves as Chairman of the Board for the J. L. Bedsole Foundation, The Crampton Trust, and the Board of the Alabama State Port Authority. He served as Chair of the Infirmary Health System from 2011-2015 and remains seated as a Director. Bestor has also served as Chairman of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce in 2007 and for many years as Chair of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation and was a founder of Innovation Portal. He still serves as Vice Chair of Coastal Alabama Partnership and sits on the Boards of the Regions Bank – South Alabama Advisory Board and The Alabama Forest Resource Center. Bestor also served as President of the Rotary Club of Mobile.

Bestor and his wife, Kathy, have a son Bestor, IV and daughter-in-law, Lauren and daughter Reilly. When he is not in his office, he can be found somewhere hunting in Monroe County, fishing in Mobile Bay or hiking and fly fishing in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Vice President

Bestor is the Vice President of Leasing and Management of Ward Properties Inc. and is responsible for managing our Retail, Industrial, commercial and Residential spaces. Bestor graduated from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee in 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Forestry. After attending Sewanne, Bestor went on to receive a Master’s of Natural Resources with a concentration in Forestry. Bestor worked as a Timberland Appraiser for several years before coming to work at Ward Properties, Inc. in 2020. Bestor is a member of the board of the Three Mile Creek Partnership, and a member of the Distribution Committee of the J. L. Bedsole Foundation.

Bestor and his wife, Lauren, have a son Bestor, V. When he is not in his office, he can be found relaxing with his wife and child somewhere hunting in Monroe County, fishing in Mobile Bay or hiking and fly fishing in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
